Mar 3, 2016. #21. It Looks similar to my previous mill, a Precision Matthews PM932 which is also an RF45 clone. There are quite a few different Chinese vendors and quality varies from very good to pretty bad. It is certainly worth looking at and would be a good deal if it's a well built version.

So then I get wind of this big hulking (for a hobbyist bench style bed mill) thingie from Charter Oak. After doing some cursory investigation, I find it's a re-hash of a IH(?) mill some of the home CNC types use/used but not without having to upgrade/mod the thing. Great. Another Chinese kit machine. NOT something I'm really into at this point.

Even a 1.5 inch face mill will fling it a good 10 feet. One thing I did which I am grateful for on a frequent basis is this, the base of my enclosure is only slightly larger than the base of the mill. About 6 inches wider left to right and deep enough front to rear to cover the mill and all the cnc mechanicals hanging off the front.
